Dine-out for a cause - on Nov. 2 Southport Smokehouse will donate 10% of sales to us
Nancy Adelis is a home visitor.
Hailing from New Jersey, my husband Rob and I have been down in the Southport area for more than 13 years and continue to enjoy this lifestyle.
Although I still work part-time, I do a fair amount of volunteering. Some of the organizations that I have volunteered for include St James Service Club, Stepping Up for Arts, Teen Court, WAVES4KIDS and the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.
I am a brand new volunteer at Samaras Village starting my service in June 2020 as a Home Visitor working with the young mothers and their infant children and to have the ability to communicate with non-English speaking mothers in their native Spanish.
I have wanted to be involved with Samaras Village for some time but other responsibilities took precedence. I am glad to get a chance to begin work with them most specifically to assist the young mothers and meet and greet with the little babies.
That's a tough question as my leisure activities vary depending on my mood. I paint and do photography and currently show in the Artisans on Howe Street Gallery. I enjoy riding my bike and Zumba when able, my volunteer work, and of course my reading.
Rob and I enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to do so most of our marriage. Our best vacation was the African safari which we took in 2017. That was followed closely by a trip to Southeast Asia. The historical sites and the natural wonders were amazing. As WWII history buffs, we hope to go to Poland as our next adventure.
